OFFICIAL RULES

Eligibility:

Open to all tattoo artists who are legal residents of the continental United States and are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.

Sponsor:

A Pound of Flesh, 7410 Coca Cola Drive, Unit 206, Hanover, MD 21076 (“Sponsor”).

Timing:

The A Pound of Flesh “Rat Battle” (“Contest”) begins on July 7, 2025 at 12:00am Eastern Time and ends on August 29, 2025 at 11:59pm Eastern Time (“Promotion Period”). A five-day grace period will extend acceptance of mail-in entries until September 5, 2025, though entries received after that date will not be judged. Sponsor’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Contest.

How to Enter:

During the Promotion Period, entrants must purchase and tattoo an APOF Naked Rat. Tattooed entries must include the artist’s name clearly inked on the bottom of the rat to be eligible. Entrants must then complete the online entry form and mail the physical entry to:

Entries must be postmarked by August 29, 2025 and received by September 5, 2025. Entries postmarked or received after this date will not be judged. Each valid entry will receive one (1) free APOF Naked Rat in return, unless the entrant chooses to have their tattooed entry returned.

Limitations:

Limit one (1) entry per APOF Naked Rat purchased during the Promotion Period. Free APOF Naked Rats provided in return for submissions may not be tattooed and resubmitted. Contest open only to legal U.S. residents in the 48 contiguous states; international entries will not be considered.

Winner Selection:

On or around September 8, 2025, the Sponsor will select the top 10 entries based on creativity, technical skill, and overall impression. Final winners will be determined by both a designated artist panel and public voting. One (1) first place, one (1) second place, and one (1) third place winner will be selected and contacted by email no later than October 31, 2025.

Prizes:

  • First Place: Prize bundle valued over $2,000, including: Flux Max 4.0, WF 50 Color Set, Ghost Coffin Tray, Recovery supplies, and more.
  • Second Place: Prize bundle valued over $1,000, including: FK One 4.0, WF Pancho Gray, Recovery supplies, and more.
  • Third Place: Prize bundle valued over $500, including: Peak Solice Ergo, Recovery supplies, and more.

Prizes are non-transferable. No prize substitutions will be made.

Odds:

Odds of winning depend on the number and quality of eligible entries received during the Promotion Period.

Release:

By accepting a prize, winners agree to release and hold harmless PainfulPleasures, its affiliates, distributors, prize suppliers, marketing agencies, and all respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (collectively “Released Parties”) from any claims, damages, or causes of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt of any prize. The Released Parties make no warranty or representation concerning any prize.

Publicity:

Except where prohibited by law, entry constitutes consent for Sponsor to use winner’s name, likeness, bio, and tattoo submission (including photos and videos) for promotional purposes in any media, without further compensation or notice.

General Conditions:

Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest if fraud, technical issues, or other factors impair its integrity. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any individual tampering with entry process or Contest operations. Attempts to undermine the Contest may violate criminal and civil laws. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any rule shall not constitute a waiver.

Limitations of Liability:

Released Parties are not responsible for: (1) technical malfunctions; (2) printing or typographical errors; (3) late, lost, or damaged entries; (4) unauthorized human intervention; (5) any injury or damage related to participation. If entry is lost or corrupted, the entrant’s sole remedy is a replacement entry if feasible. If the Contest is canceled for any reason, Sponsor may choose winners from eligible entries received to date. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded.

Disputes:

Entrant agrees that disputes will be resolved individually without class action and exclusively in a court of competent jurisdiction in Howard County, Maryland. All judgments and awards will be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs. No punitive, consequential, or incidental damages will be awarded.

Use of Data:

Entrants’ information will be used according to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy: https://apoftattoo.com/pages/privacy-policy. Entrants agree to receive future marketing communications from Sponsor. Sponsor does not sell or rent personal data.
